This week we graft

This week we graft

May 28th 2008

Aymeric and Yo are grafting this week. Yo is an experimented Japanese grafter, who has been grafting for a long time. He arrived in Polynesia to graft in the first pearl farms in Tahiti. Most of his japanese compatriots left or have been replaced, in the big farms, by Chinese or local grafters, but Yo met a pretty Polynesian and settled in Raiatea, the island in the same lagoon as ours.

He grafts mainly in our farm and we completely trust him. He is very regular and specialized in making beautiful large pearls.

Aymeric, our son, has been grafting for 2 years while standing his duties as chief of farm. He has good results, his pearls are pretty and colorful, but he's not very fast yet. For his defense, he still ensures the morning and evening dives, his duties as chief of the farm, and finally he is also doing the "guide" for the many tourists who visit the farm.

He still finds time to go surfing, kayaking and, from time to time, to party with his friends!
